In a time when photography is being transformed by the digital medium, more and more photographers are exploring earlier processes. Processes that are just as magical and relevant today as they have always been such as tintypes and ambrotypes.
This is an intensive, hands-on workshop that is designed so you will leave with a solid understanding of the process, thereby enabling you to continue when you return home. In this workshop you will learn to make tintypes (tin plate direct positives), ambrotypes (glass plate direct positives), and glass negatives. In addition to learning how to pour, expose and develop your plates, You will also learn how to mix the necessary chemical formulas.
The workshop is 3 days and takes place at my studio in LaConner, WA with the last day spent shooting on a field trip. Lunches will be provided, as will coffee and juice in the morning.
Tuition for the Tintype/ambrotype workshop is $650.00.
Tuition includes all materials and equipment necessary for the class. A $250.00 deposit is required to secure a spot in the workshop with the remainder due 30 days prior to the workshop date.
